The ideal age to start Abacus training is between 5 and 12 years. At GrowMath, our Abacus programme is open for students from Grade 2 to Grade 6 (approximately age 7–12). Starting early helps children develop stronger concentration, memory and calculation speed during their most receptive years of brain development.

Abacus uses a physical tool (the abacus bead frame) to teach arithmetic, which the student gradually visualises mentally. It is best suited for younger children (Grade 2–6) and builds foundational number sense, concentration and memory. Vedic Mathematics is a system of 16 ancient Indian sutras (formulas) that provide shortcuts for fast mental calculations — ideal for Grade 5–8 students preparing for school exams and Olympiads. Both programmes complement each other and are available at GrowMath.

Our Abacus programme has 8 levels in total. Each level builds on the previous one, progressing from basic addition and subtraction to multiplication, division and advanced mental arithmetic. Students receive a level-completion certificate upon passing the assessment for each level.

Yes — all three programmes (Abacus, Vedic Mathematics and Math IQ+) are available as live online classes. Sessions are conducted on video with real-time interaction, practice sheets sent digitally, and monthly progress reports shared via WhatsApp. Students from anywhere in India can join our online batches.

Yes. When a child works with an abacus, both hands are used simultaneously to move beads — activating both hemispheres of the brain. Research shows that regular Abacus practice improves attention span, working memory, visualisation skills and overall academic performance, not just in mathematics but across subjects.

The Admission Test is a short assessment to understand your child's current level and place them in the right batch. It is free of charge. Students who score 80% or above receive up to 10% discount on course fees. While we encourage all students to take the test, please contact us on WhatsApp to discuss your options if needed.

Our Vedic Mathematics programme has 6 levels. The duration depends on the batch frequency (once or twice a week). On average, students complete all 6 levels in 12 to 18 months. Each level ends with an assessment before the student advances to the next.
